Because I never got the chance to sit down long enough at a time when I was awake enough to see straight and write about our Kona trip, this will be a longer two-piece, two-week blog. I apologize for the delay. Obviously, the trip to Hawaii is MUCH shorter and easier from the West Coast of the U.S. than it is for those of us in Florida. The people out west, or the families they came from, have already crossed the continent. We have to fly over it just to get started! It took a day, a night and part of a day of flying and being in airports for us to get to Kona, Hawaii. I was able to get a couple of naps on the way.The weather in Kona is almost always perfect, or very near to it, but in the latter part of our trip we had a tropical storm to keep in mind when considering our plans to get home.We had two excellent captains — Jason ...
